Experience
While Jill K. Satterwhite divided the first five years of her practice between real estate and estate planning/probate, she has focused almost exclusively on estate planning, trust administration, guardianship and probate matters since 2001. She has developed a practice that not only serves clients with “traditional” estate plans, but also serves clients with special issues such as planning for business succession, estate taxes, real property in more than one state, a special needs child, children from an earlier marriage and unmarried couples. Ms. Satterwhite believes that every person deserves an estate plan tailored as much as possible to their particular needs and one that will permit assets to be passed to the client’s beneficiaries with as little administrative effort and expense as possible. When an estate plan moves past the planning stage, she continues to assist her clients and their families through guardianships, trust administration and probate. Her earlier experience with real estate and her training in tax law have provided additional depth to her practical experience in estate planning, trust, guardianship and probate.
Ms. Satterwhite is a member of the Florida Bar, Alabama Bar, Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, which she served as president in 2001 and 2002. At law school at the University of Florida, she received Book Awards in both Estate Planning and Civil Procedure.
Community Service
She is active in the community as a volunteer in both the public schools and Sunday school.
Ms. Satterwhite is a former member of Impact 100, a 1997-1998 graduate of the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Pensacola, and a former board member of both the Pensacola Heritage Foundation and the Council on Aging of West Florida Inc. She assisted extensively with the Young Lawyer’s Holidays in January project.
She is available as a speaker for organizations interested in estate planning, trusts and special needs planning.
Ms. Satterwhite resides in Gulf Breeze, Florida with her husband, Jim and their son, Joshua.
