Courtney F. Smith is an Associate Attorney with Shell, Fleming, Davis & Menge, with a broad-based civil litigation practice. Ms. Smith's practice is currently focused on representing individual clients, companies, and insurers involved in commercial disputes. Ms. Smith is licensed to practice before all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
Born in Pensacola, Florida on September 23, 1981, Ms. Smith graduated cum laude from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, Pre-Law. While attending the University of West Florida, she received Book Award honors in Legal Research & Writing, as well as Advanced Legal Research & Writing and was on the President's List for two semesters and the Dean's List for four semesters. During law school, Ms. Smith received the Book Award honor for her academic achievement in Products Liability and was on the Dean's List for two semesters. In addition, Ms. Smith clerked for the Honorable Houston L. Brown of the Alabama Circuit Civil Court for the 10th Judicial Circuit, as well as the Honorable Virginia Emerson Hopkins of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
Ms. Smith serves on the Board of the Northwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, Pensacola Young Professionals, Pensacola Inns of Court, as well as the Florida Defense Lawyer's Association, and DRI: The Voice of the Defense Bar.
Community Service
Ms. Smith serves on the Arts and Culture Committee of the Pensacola Bay Area IMPACT 100 and serves on the Ambassador Committee of the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Smith resides in Pace, Florida with her husband and their three beautiful children.
