Fletcher Fleming was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1957 and has practiced continuously in Escambia and nearby counties since his admission more than 50 years ago. Though he now limits his practice to state courts and administrative agencies he has practiced in the state courts of Florida, in the Federal District and Appellate Courts, and before most administrative agencies of the state. Mr. Fleming practices primarily in the areas of real estate, general trial practice, estate planning, probate, corporate and business law.
A member of the Florida Bar and the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, Mr. Fleming has served in a number of offices and on several committees of the local Bar Association and its predecessor, the Society of the Bar of the First Judicial Circuit. He served one term as president of that society.
Mr. Fleming, who was born in Laurel Hill, Fla., and has been a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida, briefly taught school in Okaloosa County before entering the U.S. Army. He served as a pilot during the Korean conflict. He returned afterward to the University of Florida to earn his law degree. At Florida, he served as president of the student body, and was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Phi, Order of the Coif, Florida Blue Key, and the Hall of Fame.
A charter member of Westwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1959, where he has served in virtually every position of leadership. He has also served the community through various school and civic organizations. Mr. Fleming was active in the banking community for several years, serving on the boards of Liberty Bank, First State Bank and First Union National Bank.
